Dear Lovers of Wholesome Veggies,

Today's share should include:

One large to extra large Walla Walla onion

Two pounds of new potatoes: Yellow Finn and/or Desiree

One large to extra large lettuce: Red Sail or Italienischer plus some small lettuces

Three fourths pounds broccoli and/or cauliflower

Eighteen kale leaves (about a pound and a quarter)

Farm Update:

The recent day of rain gave everything leafy a boost and gave us a welcome break from irrigating.  The rain gave the weeds a boost too, so we spent much of the week digging the veggies out from among the weeds.  Jim tilled in the buckwheat cover crop that surrounded the squash and tomato starts, so with the warm weather, maybe they'll take off now.  The beans are blossoming and the sweet mokum carrots are swelling in diameter, so we hope to keep the diversity coming.
